Considerations about attending the Kennedy Center:

  • The Kennedy Center is home to not one, but two professional orchestras, and additionally employs a raft of administrators, stagehands and other artistic support staff, security, food services, etc!

  • Ticket sales are crucial to the WNO’s operating budget, and that income goes solely to support the company. Loss of ticket revenue could have a catastrophic effect on the WNO.

  • How is the new administration of the KC talking about WNO and Ballet in the future of the KC?

    • The new KC administration is on record saying they consider the WNO and the NSO to be integral and important constituents of the arts center and they wish to support them.

    • Additionally, the KC has not asked for any changes to planned Opera or Ballet programming this season or next.

  • Can I donate directly to WNO?

    • We are happy to tell you that your ticket purchases support the Washington National Opera, just as the tickets you buy for NSO concerts support the NSO! Additionally, you can direct support specifically to these organizations and their programming. For as little as $75 you can become a Kennedy Center member, and you can assign your membership donation to any program or programs at the Center. You can also make an individual philanthropic donation to the WNO through their development office:
